When you move to Fiji, knowing what items will be required in the short, medium and long term is very helpful. You need to when make the decisions of what to bring straight away and what can come later.
Move to Fiji
As Fiji is a small island in the South Pacific, getting here is usually by plane. As such, our customers have some things they bring with them in their luggage and the bulk of their household will arrive at a different date, often months later.
Find Your Feet will establish individual requirements like food, sporting clubs, schools etc so all your packing decisions can be based on this.
Once the timeline has been established Find Your Feet will be with you every step of the way. Being there via email, skype, or text message you can ask every question from packing photos to kitchen utensils your Find Your Feet personal consultant will help guide your decisions so you will bring the best things to help establish your life quickly in Fiji.
Fiji Your Feet will be there to advise on any decisions that need to be made, for example –
- what school shoes should I bring?
- how cold does it get – will I bring my leather jacket?
- do I need to bring all my suits and formal dresses?
- what should I definitely bring and what should I leave behind?
Arriving in Fiji
One of the nicest parts of this package is the “Survival Basket”. If you are moving straight into a home rather than firstly being in a hotel, you can pre-order from a shopping list. When you land in Fiji there will be a box of supplies to get you through the first few days comfortably. Usually it contains things like soap, tea/coffee, pasta & sauce, daily needs. Your Find Your Feet consultant will find out your needs and work with you to ensure you have a very comfortable landing.
Tour of Fiji
Understanding the road rules, parking situations, what is normal practice for buying goods at the markets, will all help you Find Your Feet. Our one day Orientation Tour is part of this package and can include the things that are important to each individual client. Where can I buy craft supplies? What are the best restaurants for taking clients versus a family meal?
The tour will give you maps and information about your new country. Helping to identify the safest places to shop and activities that are available when you aren’t at work, based on your interests.
